Orthopaedic Surgery

We offer many types of orthopaedic (bone) surgeries at our clinic with a Board Certified Surgeon. Because we want to ensure that our patients receive the best possible outcome, we occasionally refer them to referral facilities with board-certified orthopaedic surgeons to perform back surgery and other very complex surgeries.

Cruciate Injuries are one of the most common orthopedic problems presented at our clinic which usually is usually caused by a combination of a twisting injury to the knee and the patient’s physical condition. When the joint becomes unstable from this injury it can cause your dog to start toe touching or not using the leg.

For partial tears medical management, proper fitted knee brace and referral for physiotherapy can be an option for conservative treatment. In a lot of cases surgical repair is recommended depending on the severity of the injury as overtime the risk of the “good” knee becoming affected is high from overcompensating the patient’s weight while limping.

Please contact us if you have any questions about these procedures or if you think your pet might benefit from them.
