Dr. Laura Cristancho, DVM
I graduated as a veterinarian in Colombia in 1991 and moved to Canada in 2001.
After doing a Master of Science program in the Pathobiology Department at the University of Guelph in 2006, I worked for a poultry-vaccine-producing laboratory for a short time. I assisted at several veterinary clinics and hospitals in New Hamburg, Elora, and Waterloo while completing the VSTEP training in 2010. I obtained my license to practice Veterinary Medicine in Ontario in 2015.
My most rewarding experience so far was been working as a part-time veterinarian at Waterloo West Animal Hospital, and as a Locum veterinarian for some small animal practices around the region.
I currently live in Kitchener with my Husband Raul and my adorable German ShepherdX, Baloo.
I do have experience with larger breed dogs as I had Whiskey, my previous German Shepherd for 9 years before I adopted my newest boy.
My goals are to focus in preventive medicine and client education. I strive to make all my clients and patients feel welcome when visiting our hospital.
I am fluent in English as well as Spanish.
